Hell Ride Advance Screening

Posted by UberBarista Aug. 4, 2008 @ 11:29 PM EDT

I just saw Hell Ride tonight.

If any of you liked Low Rider, or any other motorcycle cult classic from the late 60's-70's, GO SEE THIS. If you just like action, GO SEE IT. If you like violent over-the-top gore, GO.

Actually, if you just like movies that aren't stale hollywood flicks, go see it for that alone.

Oh yeah, it's not out yet. Well, at least you can add one movie o your list of flicks coming up that won't suck.

Larry Bishop, Dennis Hopper, Michael Madsen, Vinnie Jones, Eric Balfour... to name a few in it.

What happens in the woods, stays in the ...

Posted by UberBarista Jun. 30, 2008 @ 12:07 PM EDT

This year's MM was a blast. If you didn't come, shame on you. If you wanted to come, shame on you. If you didn't care, shame on you.

And now, I'm going to blatantly rip off NegativeONE, and copy his Thanks List.

Jonas - Wouldn't be the same without you, each year. You rock!
Aaron (Neg) - Glad you didn't sleep through this years Meet! Most of it anyway...
Adam (CaptainBob) - Thanks to you, everyone had a little captain in 'em.
Steve - The most hardcore of us all, always great to hang out with you each year.
Karl (Blue) - Like looking into a mirror that makes you appear younger and better-looking. (neg, you said it best)
Malachy - What a weirdo... nah, you're a great guy!
Matt (mighty) - You didn't get plastered this time, at least not to my knowledge...
Keith (avie) - Always good to see you!
Lindsay (mama) - Next time, make sure you don't fall asleep in Sharpie country.
Steven (Sardonic) - The most hyperactive person I have met in my life.
Viktor (Rucklo) - Great to finally meet you dude, and I hope your stay in DC will be as much fun!
Anna - I didn't get to really talk to you, but you're cool in my book any day.
Chris (JoS) - Never knew mounties got down like that.
Shawn (Afro) - You didn't miss your flight or get kicked out of any bars this year. Congrats!
Louis (Pox) - Wished I had a chance to chat more man, maybe next year. You're fun as always!
Luis - Too bad you're the only mexican this year. I wanted to be serenaded by mariachi's to sleep.
Mike - You're always a blast to hang with.
Tim - Grill Master Chief.
Bob - You didn't show any bobs. </3 >:(
Wade - Glad I wasn't the only Camera geek again!

And last but not least...

Tom - He's the fucking man.

After spending time with the crowd this year at the Mod Meet, Tom put away a keg by himself. He then proceeded to decorate Tim's jeep with Tankmen penis art.

& now, a serious note.

Posted by UberBarista Jun. 20, 2008 @ 8:29 AM EDT

So, I guess you could call me inactive here on the good 'ol NG's. Not depositing ... moderating ... or really posting. Well you see kids, when people grow the fuck up, they don't always have time to do the things they want to. For me, the lack of a internet connection and money has made that extremely easy to come to pass. Along with the job, the old lady, concerts, and lack of sleep.

Between all the things I have to worry about, like bills, It's been hard to get in the mood to come here. Yes, you heard me. Come here. Not "cum here lol i'm funny cause your gay.," that's exactly what I mean. This place can be so juvenile and callous and immature when you're not immersed in it daily. Then again, that's why I love this site.

In other words ...

BRB, IRL IZ LOL.

For the past 5 years.

This past Sunday while most people were sleeping or eating Easter Dinner, the 11th Hour Tour was getting kicked off in downtown DC at the 9:30 Club. The show kicked ass, straight up and down! I missed the opening group, Hanger 18(hip hop trio named after a certain Megadeth song) but caught up with one of the trio, Ian, outside and grabbed up one of their CD's since I had wanted to see them. He hooked it up proper and threw in a Shirt and a extra CD for $20.

Next up was Bukue One, This man was off the hook, mixing up reggae, funk, ska, and hip hop raps for a solid second act. I actually got to give props to him in person after his set was over because he came down to the merchandize bar.

The 3rd act was Chip Fu of the Fusnickens. I have never seen someone rap so fast, and clearly before. Not just that but the man broke it down backwards and forwards all while keeping to the beat of Figaro. Serious skills.

Next up was the headliner, the man that brought the house down, Del Tha Funky Homosapien. I've been waiting a long time to catch one of his shows, and it was well worth it. First CD in 7 years that he's put out by himself, the 11th Hour. Just in case you didn't know, Del collaborated with pop-group Gorillaz for two songs on their debut album, both of which became singles: "Clint Eastwood" and "Rock the House". In their cartoon-based videos he is portrayed as a ghost. He even broke out with some Deltron 3030 for the opening performance. Literally set the place on fire, then followed up with Clint Eastwood Sans Gorillaz.

If you don't know, now you know...

Go buy the CD now!
